Our presses utilize a press cutoff of 21". In turn, tabloid style layouts have a page width of 10.5", and broadsheet
style layouts have a height of 21". Proper tabloid page heights and broadsheet page widths can vary due to
multiple reasons such as publication page counts, and should be discussed with one of our Customer Service
Representatives before proceeding with design concepts.
Page layouts should be setup as single pages (within a layout) in document size with proper margins. Margin
specifications are as follows:
Tabloid layout: Top and bottom margins - .25", Outside margins - .375", Inside margins - at least .25".
Broadsheet layout: Top and bottom margins - .375", Left and right margins - .25".
All artwork must be either process color (CMYK), or grayscale. All files utilizing a spot color or RGB color
space must be converted to process.
Final image resolution for raster images must be at least 300 dpi (dots per inch) for photos and 1200 dpi for
line art for best output quality.
When enlarging artwork within a layout (such as InDesign or Quark), please avoid increasing the size of the
image past 120%. Exceeding the physical size and resolution of an image file within a layout will degrade the
quality of the image during final output.
Font formats used in a layout should either be Postscript Type 1, or OpenType. Please avoid using TrueType,
Dfont (Macintosh system fonts), or Multiple Master Postscript fonts.
